A family-friendly rugby club that fosters belonging and development for all.

Rolleston Rugby Football Club is proud to represent one of New Zealand's fastest-growing communities. Based in the Selwyn District, the club has grown alongside the town of Rolleston, evolving from a small local rugby presence into a strong, community-focused club competing within the Ellesmere Rugby Sub-Union.

Built on community spirit and local pride, we support multiple junior, teenage, colts, and senior teams — a place where players, supporters, and families come together through their shared love of rugby.

Our Journey

Built on Community Spirit and Local Pride

Founding

Rolleston Rugby Football Club established to serve the growing Rolleston and Selwyn community, becoming part of the Ellesmere Rugby Sub-Union within Canterbury rugby.

Growing the Game

Development of a full rugby pathway — junior, teenage, colts, and senior grades — supporting players from their first introduction to rugby through to senior competition.

A New Home

Transition from Rolleston Reserve to purpose-built facilities at Dynes Road, reflecting increased membership and community use.

2015 — Division 1

Rolleston RFC fielded its first Division 1 senior team, marking a significant step in the club's competitive development.

Rapid Expansion

Rapid growth in player numbers and teams as Rolleston became one of New Zealand's fastest-growing towns.

Today — Community Hub

The clubrooms becoming a central venue for rugby, events, and community gatherings. Today we support multiple grades from U6 through to senior rugby.
