Rolleston RFC

Rugby Hub

From first tackles to representative honours — a pathway for every player. Grades, coaching, policies, and everything you need for the season.

Player Pathway

A Grade for Every Player

Whether you're 5 or 35, just starting out or chasing representative honours — there's a place for you at Rolleston RFC.

U6 – U10

Junior Rugby

Fun, skills development, and the transition from Rippa to tackle rugby. The foundation of every rugby journey starts here — building confidence, coordination, and a love of the game.

U11 – U13

Intermediate

Development-focused coaching with competitive grading, regional tournaments, and representative pathway opportunities for players ready to step up.

U14 – Colts

Senior Youth

Higher-level competition with an emphasis on fitness, game understanding, and preparation for senior rugby. Colts bridge the gap between youth and open grades.

All Ages

Women's & Girls'

A growing programme welcoming players of all ages and experience levels. From girls' rippa through to the senior women's team — everyone has a place.

5 Teams

Senior Men's

Five senior men's teams competing across the Ellesmere and Metro competitions. From social rugby through to the Premier squad — there's a level for every player.

Adults

Social & Touch

Off-season touch rugby and social fixtures for adults who want to stay connected to the club, keep fit, and enjoy the game without the full-contact commitment.

Development

Coaching & Refereeing

Great clubs are built by great coaches and referees. We invest in development at every level.

Coaching Philosophy

Player development first. Our coaches focus on building skills, confidence, and game understanding at every level — from first-time Rippa players through to the senior squad.

Referee Development

The club actively supports referee development through Canterbury Rugby's programmes. We encourage players and parents to take up the whistle and give back to the game.

Coach Education

All coaches are supported with Canterbury Rugby coaching courses, first aid training, and access to the NZR coaching toolbox. New coaches are always welcome.

Club Standards

Code of Conduct

Our code of conduct applies to all players, parents, coaches, and supporters. It's what makes Rolleston RFC a club where everyone feels welcome.

  • Respect all players, coaches, referees, and supporters
  • Encourage fair play and good sportsmanship at all times
  • Maintain positive sideline behaviour — support, don't coach
  • Report any concerns to your team manager or club captain
  • Represent the club with pride on and off the field
